August 24 – Ukraine’s Independence Day!

In an extremely difficult time, Ukrainian people celebrate the Independence Day!
There is a war going on, a very brutal russian war against Ukraine…
We understand very well for what we are fighting right now.
This is our freedom, our independence, our right to a free life. And we will definitely win.
We have already lost many worthy people – soldiers and civilians – in this war.

But as the poet Vasyl Simonenko wrote –
“And there is no need for tears or despair,
And there is no need for fear and whining –
Only he lives who does not live for himself,
Who chooses life for others”
